If it's possible, I like to talk to my subject and get to know about them. The painting of John, outside his roadside craft shop in Victoria, is of him taking off his Rasta tam and shaking down his shin-length dreads - whilst telling me to "see me as I am"! His shop is an intriguing mix of things that he has made himself.
Kirl was working with the Belmont goat dairy when I did this large painting of her. The goat is called "Deer" - very confusing!
